STAY ON THE COUCH

Offense aplenty.

Notre Dame QB Tommy Rees agreed Wednesday that running 105 plays sounds like a lot of unnecessary work for the Irish offense.

The 105 number is significant because Navy had that many snaps last week in a 35-34 overtime loss to Air Force. Rees and the Notre Dame offense take on Air Force on Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium.

And for the second week in a row, Air Force will be on national TV — on NBC (KUSA-9) at 1:30 p.m.

“We like to make the most of every scoring opportunity,” Rees said. “Play counts aren’t our focus — but 105 plays, that’s a lot.”

Notre Dame is averaging 27 points and 72.4 offensive plays in five games.
