DENVER—Authorities have arrested the owner of a medical marijuana business in Carbondale for allegedly selling cocaine to an undercover officer.
Mother Earth Medical Marijuana Center was shut down Friday morning after the officer bought the suspected cocaine and said he found evidence that marijuana was being purchased illegally. Jolie Postlethwait, a spokeswoman for the Department of Revenue’s Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division, declined to release the owner’s name.
The department says state and local authorities teamed up over the last several weeks after receiving tips that the business was selling marijuana to people who didn’t have medical cards and that it was selling illegal drugs.
Postlethwait says the marijuana in the business is being seized, and the business’ patient list will remain confidential.
