FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A Fort Collins hotline for sexual assault victims says incoming calls were unanswered for a few days last week after state tax agents seized a building where its contract call center operator was located.
Louann DeCoursey, director of the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center, says the problem was discovered Saturday. She says the group made changes and calls are now being answered.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported Monday ( ) that state and federal tax officials accuse the operators of three businesses that lease space in the building of failing to pay at least $200,000 in taxes. One of the businesses had a contract to answer the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center’s hotline.
The newspaper says neither the victim advocate center nor the building’s owner are part of the investigation.
