The Colorado Mammoth on Wednesday signed forward Adam Jones, the third overall selection in the National Lacrosse League draft.

Jones was named tournament MVP for Team Canada in the 2008 under-19 field lacrosse world championships. “Adam has the ability to come in and be a game-changer right away,” Mammoth president/general manager Steve Govett said.

Also signing one-year contracts were Jordan McBride and Jamie Lincoln, both forwards and second-round selections; John Orsen, acquired last month in a trade with Philadelphia; and Brad Richardson, who played for the Mammoth in 2010 and at DU.

Kelly leads CSU golfers to fourth-place finish.

Betsy Kelly (2-under par) finished fourth to lead the Colorado State women’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico State in Las Cruces. Baylor won the event. Denver Post staff and wire services
