George Foreman speaking about Bernard Hopkins comes naturally because, on May 21, Hopkins beat Jean Pascal to become a light heavyweight world champion at 46 years, 4 months and 6 days old, the oldest to hold a pro boxing title. When Foreman won his last heavyweight title, beating Michael Moorer in 1994, he had become the oldest, at 45 years, 10 months. “I’m happy the bar has been raised,” said Foreman, who added he is rooting for Hopkins to continue fighting beyond tonight’s bout against Chad Dawson. “You might as well,” Foreman said. “There’s not gonna be any Social Security left.”
