COLORADO SPRINGS — Goalie Joe Howe made 25 saves to lead No. 7 Colorado College to a 3-1 Western Collegiate Hockey Association win over Bemidji State in the Tigers’ season opener on Friday.
Jaden Schwartz scored the game-winning goal in the second period for the Tigers, who outshot the Beavers (1-2-0, 0-1-0) 28-26.
Michael Boivin had a goal and an assist and Gabe Guentzel added a goal for CC.
Mitch Cain scored the only goal for Bemidji State (1-2-0, 0-1-0), tying the game at 1-1 in the second period.
Bemidji State goalie Dan Bakala made 25 stops.

AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Air Force overcame a 2-0 deficit in the first four minutes of the game in its Atlantic Hockey Association opener.
The Falcons (1-2-0) won on Kyle DeLaurell’s goal 1:50 into overtime, his second goal of the game.
Air Force goalie Stephen Caple stopped 21-of-23 shots by Niagara (0-2-1, 0-1-1).
