Goalie Stephen Caple made 18 saves as the Air Force hockey team beat Robert Morris 4-2 on Sunday at the the Air Force Academy’s Cadet Ice Arena.
Stephen Carew, Kyle DeLaurell, Jason Fabian and John Kruse scored for the Falcons (2-2-0, 2-0-0 Atlantic Hockey), who outshot the Colonials (1-2-0, 0-1-0) 35-20 in the game, including 26-10 in the first 40 minutes.
Metro State men earn soccer win.
The Metro State men’s soccer team scored five second-half goals Sunday and the Roadrunners defeated CU-Colorado Springs 6-0.
Scott Crawford and Scott Grode each scored two goals for Metro State (9-5-1, 7-4-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference), the first multigoal game of Crawford’s career and the seventh multigoal game for Grode.
Metro State outshot the Mountain Lions (8-7-0, 6-5-0) 23-8, and the six goals were the most scored by the Roadrunners against an above-.500 RMAC opponent. The last time Metro State scored five goals against an above-.500 RMAC opponent was 2007.
Shailer Thomas earned his second straight shutout with four saves.
