DENVER—Former President George W. Bush plans to be in Denver on Thursday, a makeup visit for one that he canceled in February.
The Denver Post reported Monday ( ) that Bush will give brief remarks at a meeting with Get Smart Schools, then meet with local education leaders, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and Denver school superintendent Tom Boasbert.
Get Smart Schools is a nonprofit Colorado group that trains principals for innovation or charter schools. It’s also developing a national certification program for principals.
Bush canceled the February visit to Denver because WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange (ah-SAHNJ’) was invited to speak to another event that Bush would have attended, the Young Presidents’ Organization Global Leadership Summit.
