ST. LOUIS — Rams quarterback Sam Bradford has a high left ankle sprain and is in a walking boot, leaving his status for this week’s game at Dallas in question.

“In my experience with the high ankle sprains, you just never know,” Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said.

The only consolation for St. Louis (0-5) is Bradford’s plant foot is his right one.

• Offensive tackle Rodger Saffold (ankle bruise) and running back Cadillac Williams (thigh) are scheduled to undergo MRI exams.

Garrard to have back surgery.

Former Jaguars quarterback David Garrard will have surgery to repair a herniated disc in his lower back this week, likely preventing him from signing with another team.

Garrard let everyone know his situation amid reports the Raiders would consider signing Garrard to replace injured starter Jason Campbell, who had surgery Monday to repair a broken right clavicle.

Footnotes.
