A speeding, stolen car being pursued by police in Colorado Springs early this morning blasted through an intersection, rolling on to its top and coming to a stop.
One suspect fled the vehicle on foot but was quickly caught, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter. A second suspect was detained at the vehicle.
The two people who had been in the vehicle were not seriously injured, police said, but one was taken to Memorial Hospital.
The incident happened at about 3:25 a.m. at the intersection of East Bijou Street and Academy Boulevard, police said.
Before the crash, the driver of the stolen vehicle drove through side streets in an attempt to evade a pursuing officer, police said. The driver eventually lost control and crashed.
Investigators are trying to determine which of the two suspects was driving. Their names were not released.
