The autopsy on 26-year-old Jessica Christine Lubken showed she died from “multiple blunt force injuries” after being hit and dragged by a light rail train in Denver last month.
Her manner of death on Sept. 20 was ruled an accident by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner today.
Lubken, a free-spirited Denver bartender called “Jessa” by her friends, was attempting to board the train at an unauthorized stop, near the intersection of Welton and 24th streets.
Witnesses told Denver police that Lubken stood on the tracks and waved the light rail to a stop, before walking to the side of the train and getting dragged under it as it took off.
The Regional Transportation District has stressed riders should only board trains at designated stations, though passengers sometimes are allowed to deboard at the stop where Lubken was hit.
