Firefighters in Jefferson County this afternoon extinguished a small wildland fire off of Colorado Highway 93 north of Golden.

The fire was reported just before 1 p.m. near the intersection of highway 93 and Indian Head Road, according to a Fairmount Fire Protection District spokeswoman.

The fire was less than three acres but a vehicle, which could be the ignition source, did burn, said Jacki Kelley, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

There were no reports of injuries or structures damaged.
