Pac-12 women’s basketball coaches apparently do not expect Colorado to make much noise this season, the Buffaloes’ debut in the conference.
The coaches’ poll, released Thursday, projects Colorado to finish 11th, ahead of only Oregon State.
Stanford, 33-3 last season and unbeaten in 18 Pac-10 games, was chosen the league’s preseason favorite for the 11th consecutive year. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team.
Colorado, under second-year coach Linda Lappe, must replace the school’s all-time leading scorer, Brittany Spears (19.2 points per game in 2010-11), from last season’s 18-16 team that played in the WNIT.
