So much for a nice, quiet week leading up to the San Diego Chargers’ game against the New York Jets. Jets coach Rex Ryan created a stir Wednesday when he said he would’ve won a few Super Bowl rings if he had been hired as the Chargers’ coach in 2007. Well, that job went to Norv Turner, who’s still trying to win a ring. Ryan called Turner to tell him the verbal dart was “unintentional.” “I was a little bit surprised by the call,” Turner said. “And then after I saw the quote, I didn’t have a chance to ask him this, but I was wondering if he had those rings with the ones he’s guaranteed the last couple of years.” Denver Post wire services
