MIAMI — It took until the final five minutes of his first start of the season, but Tim Tebow unleashed some of the magic that turned him into a cult football hero in his home state.

Tebow led the Broncos to a come-from-behind victory in his first game since unseating Kyle Orton as starting quarterback, rallying the Broncos from a 15-0 fourth- quarter deficit to an 18-15 overtime victory.

Much of it wasn’t pretty for the 2010 first-round draft pick. Tebow had only 24 passing yards in the first three quarters as he struggled with Miami’s defensive pressure. He was sacked six times before leading Denver to its first score with three minutes remaining in the game.

But those final few minutes were thrilling. Tebow threw touchdown passes to receiver Demaryius Thomas and tight end Daniel Fells and ran in for a game-tying two-point conversion.

“He’s a guy who’s going to continue to fight, continue to scrap and use his arm, his legs or whatever to get the job done,” veteran safety Brian Dawkins said.
