YANG MEI, Taiwan — Yani Tseng won the LPGA Taiwan Championship on Sunday for her 10th worldwide victory of the year and third in front of her adoring home fans.

The 22-year-old Taiwanese star closed with a 6-under-par 66 for a five-stroke victory over Spain’s Azahara Muñoz (68) and South Korea’s Amy Yang (67).

“I play really, really good today. I was bogey free,” Tseng said. “I wish this year would go on forever so I could win more.”

Tseng finished at 16-under and earned $300,000 for her seventh LPGA Tour victory of the season to increase her tour-leading total to $2,873,629. She donated $100,000 to the Taiwan Golf Association to support junior golf.

“It is a long road to develop and groom a golfer,” Tseng said. “Young golfers need as much support as possible to help them compete with the best from the rest of the world, in addition to their own commitment and hard work.”

Garcia wins going away in Spain

CASTELLON, Spain — Sergio Garcia won his first title in almost three years, dominating for the third straight day at the Castello Masters while earning an 11-stroke victory that matched the third-largest margin of victory in European Tour history.

The 31-year-old Garcia, playing on a course where he was club champion at the age of 12, shot an 8-under 63 in the final round to finish at 27-under 257.

“That was for Seve,” Garcia said, referring to golfing great Seve Ballesteros, who died of brain cancer in May.
