A new record high has been established for this day in Denver.
At 2:27 p.m. the National Weather Service reported that Denver hit 80 degrees, breaking the previous record high for Oct. 24 of 79 set in 1999.
The 30-year average for today in Denver, according the National Weather Service is 62 degrees. The record low, set in 1887, was 8 degrees.
The unseasonably warm weather comes only days before a predicted cold front is expected to drop temperatures by more than 60 degrees and dust the Denver metro area with 3-5 inches of snow by noon on Wednesday.
