GREELEY, Colo.—Investigators say a hay barn fire east of Windsor earlier this month was likely caused by either spontaneous combustion from the hay or an electrical fault.
Windsor Severance Fire Rescue Capt. Todd Vess tells the Greeley Tribune ( ) that fire marshal Sandra Friedrichsen and an insurance company investigator narrowed the cause down to the two possibilities.
Vess says the fire Oct. 12 caused an estimated $80,000 in damage. It destroyed hay, a three-story wagon for horse-drawn carriage rides, the barn, tool shed, a tractor and tools.
