More than $4 million worth of bond improvements at Ruby Hill Park are nearly complete after a shorter-than-expected delay for asbestos abatement at the site.
Crews finished building a pavilion more than a month ago and a playground within the past few weeks. This week, they were expected to finish renovating the park’s irrigation system.
Denver Parks and Recreation officials had estimated the asbestos abatement at the park, which is known for its Ruby Hill Rail Yard during the winter, could delay the project until December. Now, a ribbon-cutting celebration is planned for the end of the month.
