GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Authorities have found the body of one missing hunter in western Colorado, but the search is continuing for a missing hunter from Ohio in another part of western Colorado.
Mesa County sheriff’s officials say an Army National Guard helicopter crew and civilians spotted the body of 49-year-old Jim McCarthy of Glenwood Springs, Colo., on Thursday morning. He had been missing on Grand Mesa since Tuesday night.
KKCO-TV in Grand Junction reports ( ) searchers found McCarthy’s father-in-law alive earlier in the week.
Separately, KREX-TV reports (), authorities in Delta County are looking near Hotchkiss for 75-year-old Terry Baughn of Howard, Ohio, who was reported overdue early Wednesday. A helicopter normally used to spray fields is helping. Sheriff Mark Taylor says Baughn has hunted in the area for more than 40 years.
