LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. — The University of Colorado made history today when the men and women swept the Pac-12 Conference cross country championships at Wigman Golf Course, winning the first league titles in the newly expanded conference.

Colorado’s men, ranked sixth in the counrty and second in the conference, finished first with with 46 points, beating fourth-ranked Stanford, which had 53. CU’s Richard Medina finished third overall in a time of 22 minutes, 54 seconds. He finished behind Lawi Lalang of Arizona (22:37) and Stanford’s Chris Derrick (22:45).

CU’s women, ranked 16th in the country and sixth in the conference, won the team title with 50 points, led by Shalaya Kipp and Emma Coburn, who finished fourth and fifth respectively (19:54 and 19:55). Katie Flood of second-ranked Washington won the 6,000 meter race in 19:32. Flood’s Huskies finished in second place with 71 point.
