SAN MARCOS, Texas — Police say a 22-year-old pregnant woman who was struck by a hit-and-run driver while walking home from work gave birth to a girl before she died.
San Marcos police say Diann Ford was returning from her job at Long John Silver’s late Tuesday when she was hit. Ford, who was 37 weeks pregnant, was taken to an Austin hospital. She gave birth by cesarean section Wednesday, and the girl was taken to the hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit. Ford died Thursday.
