VAIL, Colo.—Interstate 70 over Vail Pass is reopened after a truck carrying flammable liquid spilled part of its load.
The accident closed westbound Interstate 70 for about seven hours on Sunday.
According to the Vail Daily ( ), the truck was carrying about 5,000 gallons of a methanol-based liquid.
Authorities said they had to clean up about 100 gallons that spilled into Black Gore Creek. Eagle River Water and Sanitation District spokeswoman Diane Johnson says Vail’s drinking water remains safe.
