Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora is cutting 24 civilian positions, a move officials attributed to the secretary of defense’s plans to keep costs at 2010 levels.
The layoffs, with 17 to be implemented by April and the rest by October, will largely hit support positions, such as civil engineering and services, officials said. But some command staff positions also will be cut.
