A woman was taken to Denver Health in critical condition Friday after being hit by a light-rail train just before 4 p.m. near the Colorado Convention Center.
Speer Boulevard was closed in both directions between Champa and Stout streets while police investigated. The road reopened about 5:45 p.m.
Lt. Matt Murray, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department, said the westbound train hit the woman at Speer and Stout, where the train crosses over Cherry Creek.
Scott Reed, a spokesman for RTD, said witnesses reported the woman stepped right in front of the train.
No other injuries were reported.
