BOZEMAN, Mont.—Tre Johnson scored 16 of his 20 points in the first half in Montana State’s 106-54 exhibition victory over Colorado Christian on Saturday night.

Johnson was 7 of 8 from the field in the first half and 9 of 11 overall.

“Tre gave us good energy,” Bobcats coach Brad Huse said. “I thought our defense dictated the tempo and our offense fed off it.”

Shawn Reid added 17 points for Montana State, Xavier Johnson-Blount had 16, Christian Moon 15 and Michael Dison 10. Austin Wenger led Colorado Christian with 17 points, and Daniel Pilkington had 13.

“We got some buckets in transition from the starting gate and just kept it going,” Huse said.

Montana State will open the regular season Friday night at Arizona State.
