STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo.—Routt County commissioners aren’t going away quietly after a postal service commission announced plans to close the Phippsburg Post Office.
According to Steamboat Today (), commissioners sent a letter to the postal service saying the agency had its mind made up even before it reviewed comments from rural communities.
Postal service spokesman David Rupert said Monday the decision was made by an independent commission and can be appealed. Rupert says the public had ample opportunity to voice their concerns.
