Just two days before the eight-day early signing period is to begin for basketball, Colorado men’s coach Tad Boyle and his staff were hoping to add to CU’s class of four commitments.
But according to , Colorado struck out Monday on two targets. Point guard Tyrone Wallace of Bakersfield (Calif.) High School picked Pac-12 rival California over CU. Wallace, 6-foot-4, is a national top-100 prospect.

Roadrunners make women’s soccer field again.
The Metro State women’s soccer team was selected for a 10th consecutive NCAA Division II tournament appearance after the Roadrunners (12-6-1) were seeded No. 4 in the Central Region.
Colorado Mines (15-2-3) earned the region’s top seed, along with No. 2 Fort Lewis (14-2-4), No. 3 Regis (14-5-0) and Colorado Mesa (10-7-4). The regional games start Friday in Golden.
• The Fort Lewis men’s soccer team, ranked No. 3 in Division II, earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Skyhawks (19-1) will host No. 2 seed Metro State (14-6) in Durango on Thursday.
ThunderWolves No. 2 in national poll.
The Colorado State-Pueblo football team (10-0) jumped two spots in the Division II coaches poll to No. 2, behind only Delta (Miss.) State. The ThunderWolves are coming off a 41-3 victory over Western State.
