Breckenridge skiers Bobby Brown and Keri Herman top the list for the U.S. Ski team’s inaugural slopestyle ski team, it was announced recently.
Other Colorado riders on the team of five men and five women are Gus Kenworthy of Telluride and Aspen’s Meg Olenick.
Slopestyle skiing was incorporated as an Olympic sport this past July and will be in the 2014 Games. The slopestyle skiing season starts Dec. 15 with the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge.
“It’s a big step in developing our U.S. freeskiing program by establishing the Slopestyle Pro Team,” said U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing director Jeremy Forster. “This is a part of our commitment to supporting the riders in pursuit of their Olympic goals in 2014.”
Also on the men’s team are Sammy Carlson of Hood River, Ore.; Alex Schlopy of Park City, Utah; and Tom Wallisch of Salt Lake City. The other women on the team are Ashley Battersby of Park City; Grete Eliassen of Salt Lake City; and Devin Logan of West Dover, Vt.
