DENVER—New U.S. Commerce Secretary John Bryson is touring a plant in Denver in a visit to talk up President Barack Obama’s jobs plan.
John Bryson is touring a Denver-based environmental equipment manufacturer Wednesday called Geotech Environmental Equipment Inc. Then he’ll talk about Obama’s proposals to boost employment. The president’s plan includes lower payroll taxes and extended unemployment benefits.
It is Bryson’s first visit to Denver since he became Commerce Secretary last month. He replaced Gary Locke, who became U.S. ambassador to China in August.
Bryson will be joined by Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette whose Denver district includes Geotech Environmental Equipment.
Acting commerce secretary Rebecca Blank visited the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in September.
