Two high school seniors rated among the nation’s best highlight a three-player recruiting class for the Colorado women’s volleyball program.

Nicole Edleman, a 6-foot setter from Fairview, is ranked a top-25 prospect by ESPN and No. 38 by . She was selected for the USA Volleyball High Performance program in 2011 competed on a U.S. age-group team in the FIVB Girls’ Youth World Championships.

Alexis Austin, a 6-2 middle blocker-outside hitter from Cypress Falls High School near Houston, is ranked among the nation’s top 25 by ESPN and No. 26 by . Like Edleman, she participated in the USA Volleyball High Performance tournament and in the world championships.

Chelsey Keoko, a 5-3 defensive specialist-libero from Kailua (Hawaii) Kamehameha-Hapalama High School, was named to Hawaii’s top-15 list as a junior and ‘s top 150. She has competed in USA Volleyball High Performance program.

“Each one brings something different to our program,” CU coach Liz Kritza said Wednesday in announcing the class. “But the common thread is their pursuit of excellence in all they do.”

Eagles get shut out at home.

Andrew Favot scored in the first period and Utah held on to defeat Colorado 2-0 in an ECHL game at the Budweiser Event Center.

Jeff LoVecchio added a goal in the third period, sending the Eagles (4-6-0-0) to a third straight loss. Colorado’s Aaron Schneekloth scored with just over four minutes remaining in the game, cutting the Grizzlies (8-2-0-0) lead, but the late rally fell short.
