DENVER—Police say one person was arrested on suspicion of trespassing after a group of about 30 protesters showed up at a downtown hotel that’s hosting a conservative blogger conference.

The Denver Post reports () some who showed up at the Crowne Plaza Hotel identified themselves as being part of the Occupy Denver group.

The paper reports protesters shouted “We are the 99 percent.” Blogcon 2011 attendees yelled back “We want the dog!,” a reference to a 3-year-old Border Collie named Shelby who was recently elected the protesters’ leader.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says officers responding to a disturbance call at the hotel asked the protesters to leave. Most complied.

Jackson did not immediately release the name of the arrestee.
