BOULDER, Colo.—University of Colorado president Bruce Benson is turning down an $11,000 raise after the university resumed salary hikes for employees.

Benson gets paid about $360,000 a year. He also was among top administrators who took 5 percent pay cuts because of the recession.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera ( ), the Board of Regents decided to use a portion of student tuition to help fund the merit-based salary pool and reward employees with raises of up to 3 percent.
