GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The Colorado Rockies are moving their developmental franchise out of Casper, Wyo., to Grand Junction sometime after the June amateur draft.

The Daily Sentinel reports ( ) that Colorado Rockies team co-owner and CEO Dick Monfort says the team will retain the name the Ghosts, at least for the next year or two. Monfort made the announcement during a news conference Tuesday.

Grand Junction approved a lease agreement for a city-owned baseball park last month.

Grand Junction’s baseball field seats more than 10,000 and is undergoing improvements costing $8.3 million. The work is scheduled to be completed by May.
