PHILADELPHIA — Michael Vick did not practice Wednesday because of broken ribs, and it’s uncertain whether the Pro Bowl quarterback will play when the Eagles visit the Giants on Sunday night.
Eagles coach Andy Reid said Vick is “still sore” and “these next few days will tell” if he plays Sunday.
Vick broke his two lower ribs on the second play of the Eagles’ 21-17 loss to Arizona on Sunday. He didn’t tell anyone he was hurt and played through the pain.
Vince Young and Mike Kafka shared reps at practice, though Reid wouldn’t identify a possible starter.
The Eagles also promoted receiver/kick returner Chad Hall from the practice squad and released safety Jarrad Page. Hall, a former star at Air Force, played in eight games last year, making 11 catches for 115 yards and one touchdown.
Kolb’s return to practice limited
TEMPE, Ariz. — Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb practiced on a limited basis, testing his injured right foot with some football moves for the first time since he was hurt three games ago.
“It’s getting better obviously,” he said. “Today I took some individual work and started dropping on it a little bit. That’s a big step for me.”
Kolb said “gingerly” is a good word to describe how he moved in the workout. He has missed two games with a turf toe and a bruise on the side of the foot. Combined, the injuries cause pain when he plants to throw and when he moves around.
“It is frustrating. I didn’t expect it to take this long,” he said.
Backup John Skelton has been at the controls in those victories as Arizona ended a six-game skid.
