KAHUKU, Hawaii — The search continues for a tourist from Colorado who is believed to have gone missing after surfing off Oahu’s North Shore.
Robert Rumburg, 51, is from Arvada.
The Coast Guard and Honolulu firefighters began searching for him Wednesday night after he was reported missing near Sunset Beach. The Coast Guard says he was scheduled to fly to Colorado that night. Friends reported him missing after finding his wallet, keys and rental car still at their home.
A surfboard he borrowed washed ashore Wednesday night.
Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said the search included a helicopter, personal watercraft, boat and divers.
