Denver police have arrested a woman as the driver in a hit-and-run accident this morning.

John White, a spokesman for Denver Police Department, said the woman turned herself in and also pointed officers to 20th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard, where she said she left the vehicle.

Police have not yet identified the woman.

Police said a man was walking through the parking lot near the Denver Human Services Building at 1200 Federal Blvd. about 9:35 a.m. when a backing vehicle hit and ran over him. Witnesses said the vehicle then hit him again as it drove away. The man, whose name has not been released, was in critical condition.

The car was described as a two-tone blue and green or silver Mitsubishi Montero.

Anyone with any other information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
