FORT CARSON — Two flatbed train cars carrying military vehicles derailed Thursday morning at a switching station at Fort Carson, officials said.

Because the cars only popped off the tracks and didn’t tip over, there was no damage either to the vehicles or the rail cars.

No one was injured in the accident near the B-Street entrance gate, and no hazardous materials were spilled.

The accident happened as the vehicles were being returned to Fort Carson following combat training. Soldiers hoisted the cars back onto the tracks.
