Female workers in Colorado women earned 77.7 percent of what their male counterparts earned in 2010 according to a report released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In 2010, the median weekly earnings of Colorado women was $719, compared to $925 by men. Nationwide, women earned $669, or 81.2 percent of the $824 median for men.

In Colorado, the ratio of women’s to men’s earnings was above 80 percent in all but 2 years since 2002. But from 1997 to 2001 the Colorado ratio fell within a narrow range — from 74.6 to 77.4 percent.

Median weekly earnings for women workers in 2010 in the U.S. range from $530 in Arkansas to $835 in Connecticut. (Median weekly earnings for men in Arkansas were lowest at $640 and highest in Connecticut at $1,101.)
