Major traffic delays are expected next week at Iliff Avenue and High Line Canal Trail, as construction crews begin working on a trail underpass.
From Dec. 5 through Dec. 8, Iliff Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction as crews remove a median, according to a news release from Arapahoe County.
The underpass will allow pedestrians on the trail to cross safely under Iliff Avenue. Sidewalks will also be extended over the High Line Canal on the south side of Iliff Avenue.
The project is expected to take six months to complete.
During next week’s lane closures and restrictions during other parts of the construction, motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes.
