CANTON, Ga. — A maintenance man with no known criminal past was arrested Wednesday in the beating death of a 7-year-old girl who was abducted at her apartment complex and whose body was left in a trash bin.
Ryan Brunn, 20, who lived at the complex, was jailed on a murder warrant, said Georgia Bureau of Investigation director Vernon Keenan.
Jorelys Rivera was last seen Friday leaving a playground to head home. Authorities said they believe she was taken to an empty apartment, where she was sexually assaulted, stabbed and beaten to death.
