One holiday enthusiast could buy more than 500,000 partridges in a pear tree or 2 million French hens if they match all six numbers in the Mega Millions jackpot on Friday, which is now worth $100 million.
The cash option for Friday night’s drawing is an estimated $73.3 million, according to a news release from the Colorado Lottery.
No one claimed the jackpot after Tuesday night’s drawing.
In lieu of the holiday spirit, officials at the Colorado Lottery took the holiday jingle, “12 Days of Christmas” and calculated what $100 million could buy following some of the song’s lyrics.
With $100 million a person could buy:
— 540,570 partridges in pear trees at $184.99 each
— 1,600,000 turtle doves at $62.50 each
— 2,000,000 French hens at $50 each
— 769,290 calling birds at $129.99 each
— 775,194 gold rings at $129 each
— 3,703,704 geese-a-laying at $27 each
— 111,111 swans-a-swimming $900 each
