Guns N’ Roses always finds a way of popping up in the headlines, even though the band, in actuality, has done nothing of note since 1993’s “The Spaghetti Incident.” Polarizing frontman Axl Rose failed to deliver on the promise of greatness with 2008’s “Chinese Democracy,” and has been a no-show at recent touring attempts. Still, the band has been chosen for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and there is no arguing the canonical status of its 1987 debut, “Appetite for Destruction.” Catch the bloated Rose singing your favorite hits at the 1stBank Center on Sunday night. Tickets, $49.50-$69.50, are available through TicketHorse.
Other Lives are one of the year’s breakout indie bands, though instead of relying heavily on trends, hooks and radio-ready beats, the Midwestern group does the exact opposite. The songs are sprawling, layered compositions that require close rather than passive listening. Tickets for Wednesday’s show, presented by Reverb, are $10 through .
