BEMIDJI, Minn.—Bemidji State goalie Andrew Walsh made 36 saves to help Bemidji State beat Denver 2-1 Saturday for a split of their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.
Walsh held the Pioneers (7-6-3, 5-4-3) scoreless on six power plays. He made a game-high 18 saves in the third period.
Jordan George gave the Beavers (7-9-2, 5-7-2) an early lead and assisted on Ben Kinne’s game-winner at 4:03 of the third period.
Denver’s Daniel Doremus made it a one-goal game at 11:47 of the third period.
Denver had 37 shots on goal, while Bemidji State put 24 shots on Pioneers goalie Juho Olkinuora. He faced only five shots in the third period.
Denver won Friday’s series opener 3-2.
