DENVER—A Colorado attorney suspected of stealing up to $1 million from his clients is waiving extradition in California to return to Colorado to face charges.
Royal Daniel was in jail in San Diego after being arrested Wednesday while entering the United States from Mexico.
According to KUSA-TV ( ), Daniel is expected back in Colorado within a week.
In an interview with KNSD-TV in San Diego ( ), Daniel says he had a pleasant life in Mexico but decided to return and take care of unfinished business. Daniel denied taking money from clients and said he left Colorado because of the pressures of his job and other responsibilities.
