JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Kenny Boynton scored 18 of his 26 points in the second half and No. 12 Florida placed four players in double figures in a 90-69 victory over Rider on Friday night at the Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Gators (7-2), second in the nation with 11 3-pointers per game, bettered that mark with 13 3s in 28 attempts. Florida’s three starting guards, Boynton, freshman Bradley Beal and Erving Walker, combined to go 12-of-23 from 3-point range.

Jeff Jones had 20 points to lead Rider (1-9).

Women

No. 2 Connecticut 70, Seton Hall 37 — The Huskies (9-0) quickly took the Pirates (5-5) — and the spirited crowd — out of the game, hitting four 3-pointers during a 20-0 run that opened the game.
