GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Federal Aviation Administration officials allowed a United Airlines jetliner to fly to San Francisco following an emergency landing in Grand Junction after an engine shut down.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor Monday says the agency allowed United to fly the jetliner to San Francisco without passengers after the airline inspected the plane and did some work on the engine.
Airline officials in a statement say the plane has been repaired and is back in service. Details were not immediately available.
The Boeing 757 was flying from Denver to Los Angeles on Sunday with 125 passengers and crew on board when one of its two engines shut down. The flight was diverted to Grand Junction Regional Airport, where passengers were put on another plane.
