GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Budget cuts are forcing Grand Junction to cut back on downtown Christmas decorations this year.

The city’s development authority says it can’t even afford to hire a bucket truck to get lights onto the city’s tallest trees.

The development authority usually strings lights high into the sycamore trees that line Main Street and uses contractors to put up decorations.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ), the authority says it did what it could with the budget.
