  •  Gov. John Hickenlooper announced the appointment of Christopher Clayton Zenisek to serve as a district court judge in the 1st Judicial District (Jefferson and Gilpin counties). Zenisek will fill a vacancy created by the recent appointment of the Brian Boatright to the Colorado Supreme Court.

  •  Ken Versman has been elected second vice president of the American Dental Association. Versman is a periodontist with a private practice in Aurora.

  •  The Colorado Association of Cemeteries announced that Michael Long, Olinger Hampden Memorial Gardens, will serve as president. Other new officers for the 2011-2012 year include Frank Nash, Jr., Roselawn Cemetery Association, vice president; and Heath Carroll, Foothills Gardens of Memory, second vice president. Kelly Briggs, Fairmont Cemetery Co. will serve on the board as member-at-large.

  •  The Colorado Civil Justice League selected Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell associate Evan Stephenson as its 2011 lawyer of the year.

  •  L. Martin Nussbaum, partner at Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons LLP, has been appointed as a consultant to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ ad hoc committee on religious liberty.

  •  Global Down Syndrome Foundation announced that Trish Morris has been named program director.

  •  Joanne Kron will become the executive director of ProgressNow Colorado effective Jan. 1.
