A Greeley man died in a car crash Thursday while driving with his family on a trip from Georgia to New Mexico.
Edward Park, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-car crash after his sister-in-law and driver, 68-year-old Kathleen Shanley, lost control of the Chevrolet Venture minivan, causing it to roll into the median of Interstate 40, east of Amarillo, Texas, according to the Amarillo Globe-News.
Edward’s wife, Gerry Park, 62, and Shanley’s husband, 64-year-old Andrew Shanley, were taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in serious condition, the Globe-News reported. Kathleen Shanley, of Stanley, N.M., was also pronounced dead at the scene.
The family was headed for Albuquerque after visiting with relatives in Georgia, said Anita Zamarrita, Edward’s niece.
